History Book

Nancy Wurmle, long-time Stormy Lake resident and former SLA president, contacted the lake's property owners and asked each to submit an essay about their cottage's history. A remarkable number of the homeowners submitted pieces. The book was compiled in about 2012. Since then, many of the owners who created the pages have died or moved on. Still, the book makes interesting reading and provides background dating back decades for many of the properties. Maybe we need an update.

In the original paper version of the book, the collection was led off with Charles and Dorothy Rose-Spahn's  stories from 1928 to 1982. Their essay is here.

The history book was compiled before the "smaller roads" were designated, so you won't find entries for Harmony Villa Ln, Gathering Pl, or Stormy Shores Ln. Properties on smaller roads are included under the larger road nearby.
